At least I won't give u red dots if you can enlighten us how to get us out of this mess. And yes, we do want our green card so I don't think we can stop the process or stop spending money on that. Also please advise us how to bring all 70K people under one umbrella?
I dont mind getting Red Dots, But please, for god's sake. Stop doing this fruitless campaign. Do you guys think Giving a Clock or sending flowers solved earlier problems. Enough of this Gandhiian ways. This country is not good for people like Gandhi. May be Flower campaign got noticed and created a whole new experience for the USCIS, but i dont think it really helped them do anything in our favor. Already, folks here are wasting their money, year after year, on their EADs and APs for them and their family. Just think for a second guys, It costs us 1000 $ to maintain status on AOS and visit our family and this is going on indefinitely for our years now. USCIS/Congress does not want to do anything about this, They are happy to get the revenue. Even if you think a minimum of 200,000 people spending 1000 $ an year, it is 200,000,000 $. Iam not even considering the amount they spent on other things like H1B extension, H4s..... Just think about the Dollars they are making on this Green Card SCAM. Accept it or not, it is indirectly affecting our lives, even though, GC is not really important for lot of folks. Iam one such person, I have a good client and a decent employer and iam with the same folks for 9 years and they are happy extending my H1b at their cost. But still, this whole GC game, is sometimes disturbing. They are playing with our emotions and our loved ones. So, GUYS we need to take a bigger and bolder step. To me, Calling people, sending flowers and letters explaining the situation makes no sense. Do you think, those guys dont really know about our situation. Let us a make a bold move. We are 70,000 folks just here in ImmigrationVoice. Let us compile a letter,that pushes USCIS/Congress on improving the condition. As long as they get those EXTRA Dollars, i dont think anything is going to happen. Even if they remove the provision to apply for GC while on H1B, it is good for us, for we will know that in advance and can plan on shaping our future better, instead of this false promise and emotional torture. I think even AILA or other Lawyers are useless. They dont want to do anything for us. All they do is, interpret the LAW , and explain us in the way we can understand. They dont take steps to fight for the justice. All they care is the money. So let us make our point clear to USCIS, we dont want to waste money on EADs and APs and H1B extensions. To me, it should be free of cost, since it is their problem that they dont work efficiently. Why should we pay 1000s of dollars for their inefficiency. let us all 70,000 work together in sending a letter to USCIS or Congress that We are not willing to spend any more money on the GC knowing that we are not going to get it anyway. EB2 India and EB2 China will have same cut off dates. I recall reading the USCIS explanation (in one of those AILA - USCIS conference) regarding distribution of unused EB2 ROW numbers and they mentioned that they have to keep EB2 I-C same till those catagories become current.

Morally it is right to send money to parents, but legally it is not. As you can strive but, you wont be fair to either set of parents. Hence I believe "money" should not be sent to parents. Your parents should have planned their own future, including humanitarian needs. Only if your other half agrees, then only you should send money. Otherwise, it is your and your spouse's money

you might want to contact the indian community that donated to Hillary and inform them with her vote against immigrants. they need to write her a letter asking for answers. she has to know that legal immigrants have supports from their communities like this community that donated money ($2M is a lot of money and should have a word for it)

I think you do have to change your ideas in this case. Its very simple we cannot do what you plan to do. Lobbying is the only way for us. Illegals did that because they did not anything to loose. We are not in that situation, GC would be nice to have else we can go home or another country and we can survive.
So instead of waisting our time in talking about this, we should try to add members and contribute. I know you are an active member but I am just telling.

Many H1s like me have their non-working spouses on H4 visa who are not given SSNs. Do we not pay taxes ? Do we not pay Social security ? We do, and therefore we should also be eligible for the Stimulus package. Indeed my son is autistic and disabled but we are not eligible for any kind of aid but we pay tons of taxes and social security. It is highly non-justified think. I know people will argue a lot if it is compared to slavery. But it is a "modern form of slavery". Yes, we are in this country with our own will but that is what they are making use of.
Please blame the illegals who use ITIN 1)to file taxes 2) to show that they were present in US.

I am going to participate 100% sure in the rally. I am spreading word of mouth everyday about the rally. So far I had convinced 15 people to attend to the rally. Everyone complained that they have work on that day as I expected. However I convinced them and they are 100% sure to participate.

Bad news unless they allow mass conversion of TR applications into non-RIR. Imagine they took two years to get rid of 220,000 easier applications (2005 and 2006). Now they are left with some of the old TR applications and they must be thinking of how to meet the September deadline. I would not be surprised if they ask for an extension, citing processing difficulties.

EB must also get some additional visa numbers from FB as an 'interest' for these 'loaned' visas from EB to FB. Now we have to finalize the 'interest' rate. How about 100%? ;)

I know, this is an opportunistic and shameless suggestion from my part. But the fact of the matter is, we are rightfully entitled to the same number of visa numbers that we effectively 'loaned' to the FB visa category in the previous years.
What is important is that this sort of give and take can happen with out any law change. We only need to cry louder than FB folks, and USCIS may give unused FB visas to EB category.

I am from Tennessee..My labor PD is July 2002(regular), was forwarded to Phylly from atlanta regional after recruitement was done. got 45 day letter in feb of 2005. I haven't heard from them since. anyone in the same boat with similar Priority dates?
