Since it passed during the special session, everything had to be cleared out of the Congress quickly, I guess. USCIS must be busy to get ready for processing and collecting increased fees from these employers soon. The new filing fees will be a huge amount, especially when they decide to file a premium processing request. Can you imagine how much these employers will lose for a single case if the case is filed on premium and denied!! Ouch!
* The new fees will take effect tomorrow since the President is scheduled to sign it into law at 11:00 a.m. EST, tomorrow. "

agree..... these new filing fees is a huge amount.... it would have been so good to let immigration lawyers make all this money..... better off.... senate should have passed a bill that immigration lawyers r doing public service & their fee should be increased by $2000....

1. Did you refile under EB2 with the same employer? If so, would you mind sharing details - job description used for EB3 and EB2? I have an MCA from India with 12+ years of experience. My current employer filed my GC under EB3 (PD 2004), job description used was Software Engineer. I was promoted since then to Principal S/W Engineer and I was hoping I could ask my current employer to refile under EB2. But my attorney says that it is risky since the current job description of Principal Software Engineer has to be different from Software Engineer by atleast 50%.
2. Did you get any RFE during the new PERM or I-140?
It will be of great help if you could advice.

Dude if you do not like something, why don't you start your own aggressive organization. You do not do squat on IV and only whined.
It is always an option for any one with in their org, but if his point is wrong, then IV core leadership should prove him that they are not sitting idle or moving very very slow.

My impression was that USCIS calculated the possible number of cases that would be ready to be assigned a visa (means all the name check and other formalities finished) , before a month and the first PD that will not get a VISA will be the cutoff date for the bulletin for that month.
If the USCSI didnt have enough applications to be assigned the VISA , then why are they so conservative in making the cutoff dates move ahead. What is the harm in pro-actively moving the cutiff dates, to amek sure no visa gets wasted. I think focussing on avoiding visa wastage itself will reduce this retrogression mess to a big extent

You are turning the basic premise upside down. H1B transfer becomes a reality.
Rather, you should ask, employee-petitioned H1 transfer in adition to Employer-petitioned H1 transfer. What say you?
Ans 1) Fairness...H1-B transfer becomes a reality...One can look for better Job oppurtunities...otherwise why even allow H1-B transfer when there are hidden GC related problems.
Ans 2) It should be applied to new AOS applications only.

From what I understand many 485 applications(not all)received in accordance to the June bulletin MAY have been preassigned a visa number(from the leftover 60,000 visas) NOT an approval.Although they are not supposed to pre assign numbers without name checks etc, is'nt it obvious that they might have done that??. They have a lot of cases to approve until Sept 30(from that 60,000 number)

found answer on Ron Gotcher's website: ONE CAN CONTUNUE WORKING ON EAD (http://immigration-information.com/forums/showpost.php?p=25197&postcount=3) according to this post.
This contradicts with the fact that many reported on IV. Ron says that one can continue employment on EAD. EAD stays valid atleast till the legally allowed time to file for an appeal, and once you file appeal, it stays active till it adjudicated.
However many ppl reported that they had to leave job due to 485 revocation. What is the truth???? Any one?

1. Please throw your valuable thoughts on I-9 Employment autorization. My daughter is got a job and recuruiter asked for I-9 ( immigration document).
Do you need to print from INS office and fillup and send to respective college or INS.

As much as I appreciate the efforts that the IV core team has put in, them being so secretive, it is almost like they have formed a cabal.
I feel 'cabal' is too strong a word.. secrecy may be but I don't see any conspiracy here..
