The New York Times carried on its front page this morning a Nina Bernstein article that will no doubt cause a shake up at Immigration and Customs Enforcement over what can only be described as a major scandal in the way the agency has dealt with sick detainees at the agency's detention facilities around the country. The details described by Bernstein will no doubt enrage you. The obvious monumental effort Ms. Bernstein put in to bringing this story will also likely move her on to the short list for a Pulitzer Prize for this hard-hitting piece of journalism.

I just filed for an H1B transfer in April. My current H1 is valid till April 2010. Just got an email from CRIS stating that my current I-129 case which was approved in April 2007 has been reopened at USCIS determination for review. Is there a problem or is it just normal procedure to look at the original H1B petition? Have transfered H1B before but have never had this happen. Is this something new that they are doing? Incidentally I am on the 10th year of my H1B and have a copy of the approved I-140 based on which we filed for a 3 year extension.

These are the documents needed for AC 21 I 140 Approval, Labor Certification, I485 Reciept, Offer Letter from company B (make sure you have the same job title and the same salary as of your labor certification)

Hi,
I would like to apply for the H1B Visa. For the same, I would like to clarify whether I am eligible with the following education background (Basically I am looking for the 16Yrs education criteria)
1) Did schooling up to 10th (10 Yrs)
2) Did Diploma (3 Yrs, Full Time)
3) Total IT work experience is 9.10 Yrs
4) Did B.S ( Bachelor of Science -- 3Yrs - Work Integrated Course/Distance Edu)
5) Did M.S (Master of Science -- 2Yrs - Work Integrated Course/Distance Edu)
Please let me know whether I am eligible.

Dear all,
My husband and I had applied last july for I-485. I am expected to renew my Advance parole document this month i.e August. I have not sent any documents to USCIS as of now. Today I checked the status of my LUDs and I see that there is a change in LUD status of Advance Parole, it now shows 27th july 2008.
Could anyone tell me why this change when no documents have been even sent? No other of my cases are showing change such as I-485, EAD.

Once you start working as a trainer, you have violated H-1B status so that you must rely on the EAD for both the gym job and the Systems Analyst position. You must also use Advance Parole, not the H-1B visa, to return after travel.

I wonder if they are approving I-140s for people whose priority dates are current to expedite their GC approval. Have you already done your finger printing?
